2) Must know how to utilize Microsoft Excel.
3) Must come up with a side research project from dataset.
4) Must be able to present findings at Sul Ross and at least 1 wildlife-related conference.
5) Must be a Texas resident.
6) GPA of 2.5 or greater


- Knowledge of statistical software is preferred, but not necessary.

Primary Responsibilities

The research is part of a project investigating bird-habitat relationships for grassland obligate birds in the Marfa grasslands of Texas. One of the variables being measured at a micro-habitat scale in temperature. This data, along with bird location and vegetation composition data, will aid in our understanding of grassland bird habitat selection.

- Help analyze location and temperature data that has been collected for the grasslands bird project.
- Compare micro-climate conditions between bird locations and random locations.
- Compare micro-climate conditions between different vegetation compositions.

16 March – 31 May 2018
(Beginning and ending dates may be flexible)

- Computer work can be conducted anywhere, but preferably at the Sul Ross NRM campus.
